A place for showcasing the near-extinct medium of instant photography. Polaroids offer a unique, spontaneous beauty in a fast-paced digital age of image capture. I aim to present images that I personally take along with inspiring instants found online.

Greetings! Hope you are enjoying this season of advent as I am. I pulled out my 3rd pack of film this week for some sweet instants at local friendly Christmas gatherings. IMPOSSIBLE is hosting deals everyday this month. Each day is a new offer including desktop backgrounds, film giveaways, discounts, free shipping, etc. I won 2 free packs of film by entering their competition on the 6th! See the winning photo below. Keep shooting!!
………………….. 11/29 >> Pack #2 …………………..
I’ve finished my second pack of film. It’s taken me a little bit bit to sit down and post them. I took some (really early) sunrise landscape/architecture shots for the first 4. The next 4 were shot at a party later that night. A big thank you goes out to everyone who made these shots happen! I’m pretty psyched with the results, especially the double exposure capture (above). View the entire set below. Next up for me is a black framed silver shade pack (silvery black and white) and I’ve got a couple more color packs to shoots after that. Let me know what you think in the comments!

I found this image flipping through a Polaroid How–to Book. I felt it was worthy of it’s own post.
11/6 >> Manuel Alvarez Bravo: Polaroid Extraordinaire
“Manuel Alvarez Bravo – whom Xavier Villaurrutia imagined as a man with his head in his hands, like Saint Dionysius– spent his life with a camera in his hands. The latest model, the biggest, the most sophisticated, the simplest, any camera, even a Polaroid. Sometimes, on leaving the city, he would fill a bag with various cameras, lenses, fillers, a tripod. He took it all with him, and though he would use only a small part of it, he shot every last roll of film. He had a steady hand. And the special relationship with sky and sunlight: they became his accomplices.”
– Colette Alvarez Urbajtel
I was browsing through the library today and I came across a choice book on Manuel Alvarez Bravo, a photographer out of Mexico City, Mexico. The book was “Polaroids.” View my favorites below.

I’ve finished my first roll of film with the help of a friend. We took a trip to the graveyard and took some portrait shots. I’m still getting a feel for my camera as it responds to light. The last shot was taken using the double exposure technique, something I’m excited about playing with in the future.
………………….. 10/17 >> Pack #1 …………………..
I’m over halfway through my first pack of film. I’ve shot a few notable sites around Waco to get a feel for my Spectra. Coming soon will be some portrait shots as well as a double exposure (see 10/15 post below).

10/15 >> Double Exposure Technique
The Impossible Project has posted a helpful video about how to arrive at unique double exposed instant images simply by using the self-timer on your camera. Watch below.
