A new Polaroid onslaught has arrived! All color shots this time documenting Waco structures. View the entire new set over on the Polaroid page.
I’m sure you’ve noticed the lag in my Polaroid shooting/posting. Well, it’s because my camera got busted when coming back from Nawlins right after a choice shooting session. But, all is well thanks to Phototech, wizards of Polaroid Spectra and SX70 camera repair, and the IMPOSSIBLE Project.

A friend referred me to this great collection of large format Kodachromes from the early 1940s. I love the color, drama and precision in these photographs. They look like they were shot with digital cameras. I can’t help but think of Mad Men when I look at some of these…need to cut back. Below are some of my favorites. View more after the jump. View even more here. Keep shooting!

I’ve recently finished shooting my black and white/black frame film pack. The change from color to black and white film was a welcome variation and the black frame displays the shot beautifully. I’ve also posted some color shots taken by a fellow Polaroider. Head over to the Polaroid page to view the full set.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I spent my Christmas holiday shooting some more Polaroids in the stomping grounds of my parents (MO). I finished my current color pack and shot a pack of special edition expired Softone film. The film yielded some interesting images. View some of my favorites after the jump and the full set over on the Polaroid page. I’ve also started a black and white with black frame pack. I entered the IMPOSSIBLE 2012 In an Instant competition with a few shots from it. View my entries here and my competition here. Keep shooting!

I’ve finished my second pack of film. It’s taken me a little bit bit to sit down and post them. I took some (really early) sunrise landscape/architecture shots for the first 4. The next 4 were shot at a party later that night. A big thank you goes out to everyone who made these shots happen! I’m pretty psyched with the results, especially the double exposure capture (above). View some more shots below and the entire set here. Next up for me is a black framed silver shade pack (silvery black and white) and I’ve got a couple more color packs to shoots after that. Let me know what you think in the comments!

I found this image flipping through a Polaroid How–to Book. I felt it was worthy of it’s own post.

“Manuel Alvarez Bravo – whom Xavier Villaurrutia imagined as a man with his head in his hands, like Saint Dionysius– spent his life with a camera in his hands. The latest model, the biggest, the most sophisticated, the simplest, any camera, even a Polaroid. Sometimes, on leaving the city, he would fill a bag with various cameras, lenses, fillers, a tripod. He took it all with him, and though he would use only a small part of it, he shot every last roll of film. He had a steady hand. And the special relationship with sky and sunlight: they became his accomplices.”
– Colette Alvarez Urbajtel
I was browsing through the library today and I came across a choice book on Manuel Alvarez Bravo, a photographer out of Mexico City, Mexico. The book was “Polaroids.” Below are some of my favorites from the collection. View the full set over on the Polaroid page.
